Money Can Not Buy You Happiness
Of course, there will be a large number of people who, upon reading this article, will consider me rather insane. Well honestly I could not care less. In this article I write about what I personally consider are the only two things which matter in life: health and happiness.
All that most of my friends talk about is money:All that most of my friends talk about is money:
Are you a car owner?”
Estimate of the value of your house.
The other evening I asked him, ‘How much money do you make?’
How much did your suit cost , This could also be in relation with How expensive was your suit ?
Do you have any plan of going on holiday this year: If yes where do you intend to spend your holiday at?
I consider all of this very boring and realize that they are actually rather sad. Sometimes, they afford to seem like they are in some sort of competition and all of them appear to be obsessed with money.
I will give one example of such friend, his name is John. He never seems to talk anything apart from it and is always searching into various options of making quick fortunes. He is also in a lottery syndicate which has members totaling to fifty people in number. It costs its members roughly ten pounds a week. John prefers going out to socialize during Saturday night but as soon as the time comes for the draw of the lotteries, he gets the urge to go. After a few minutes he will go to the toilet where later he will call his girlfriend. He carries to the toilet, his piece of paper with his numbers, and a little pen. After his girlfriend has informed him which numbers were drawn, John will spend about twenty minutes trying to cross check his numbers then cross check again to see if he has any winning lines.
After that he goes back to the group who look very eager (or maybe just me) to know how much has he won or lost. For now only small amounts are effective; though he desperately believes that someday he will become a millionaire. He will then begin to discourse and discuss the lottery asking other people what they would do if they ever won it. At this point I become very bored and start to wish I had stayed at home and watched the football.
As for me I think that the main goals in life are to be healthy and be happy. These are two aspects which money can not purchase. Several years ago my father got seriously ill He was in very poor condition and I had to admit him to the hospital for approximately five months. It came as a big shock to me when he had to be taken ill as he was only fifty-seven years of age. I thought the worst was about to happen despite my efforts to struggle and try my best to think and remain positive. At one point I recall saying to myself even if I can gather up all my possessions and offer them to those physicians, nothing would assist him. I was helpless and at that moment I said – money is just pieces of paper.
Money is similar, I have in my mind once when I had lots of money and at twenty one, I was actually feeling depressed. Other times I have had almost no money and felt as great as anyone could possibly feel.
